2. Do I need Wi-Fi for the robot to work?
No, not all the time. TerraMow can operate without an Internet connection. It needs a Wi-Fi connection for first-time setup, app settings, firmware updates, and live camera.
After setup, the robot can continue mowing based on saved maps, schedules, and mowing settings. Wi-Fi is still recommended because it keeps the app status, mowing records, and troubleshooting data up to date.
Tip: TerraMow supports Wi-Fi and cellular data. Cellular data is used when Wi-Fi is unavailable and cellular data is turned on in the app.
3. Where is the best place to install the base station?
TerraMow doesn't require buried wires or an RTK antenna, so the base station has flexible placement. Here’s what to keep in mind:
-Place the base station on flat, stable ground near a power outlet. It can be installed on lawn or hard ground as long as the surface is level, and secure it with the included screw mounts to prevent shifting.
-Keep clearance around the station. No obstacles within 0.5 m (1.6 ft) on the left and right sides, and 1.8 m (5.9 ft) in front.
-If the base station is not on the main lawn, you can set a pathway in the app to guide the robot to the mowing area. The robot can travel up to 60 m from the base station and return on its own. For step-by-step instructions, click here to learn more.
-Keep the station within Wi-Fi range for initial setup and app communication. The built-in 4G connection takes over when the robot moves beyond Wi-Fi coverage.
4. How do I create a map?
TerraMow creates a map automatically. During mapping, the robot identifies the lawn area and saves the map in the app.
-Prepare the base station. Make sure it is stable, powered, and placed where the robot can enter and exit easily.
-Prepare the lawn. Remove obvious obstacles, toys, hoses, and loose objects before mapping.
-Start Mapping in the app and follow the prompts. -The robot will scan the lawn, create the map, return to the station, and save the map automatically.
-Review the map after mapping. Check the boundaries, paths, and any areas that should be marked as No-go Zones or Grass-cutting Zones.
5. How do I activate the free data package?
The free data package is activated automatically when you activate your TerraMow robot. No redemption code is required.

2. The mowing path is not showing on my map. Why?
The mowing path is not shown when the robot is using cellular data. Path sync will resume after the robot reconnects to Wi-Fi.
Make sure the robot is in a stable Wi-Fi area, then reopen the map page after the connection recovers.
3. What is Spot Mode, and how do I use it?
Spot Mode is for small, separate lawn areas that do not use the base station, such as a side lawn or a small patch not connected to the main map.
-Place the robot at the start point. The area should be larger than 5 m² and smaller than 120 m².
-Start Spot Mode in the app. The robot will mow the selected area.
-When the task ends, the battery is low, or you tap Return to Start Point, the robot will return to where it started instead of the base station.
Tip: Each robot can save one additional Spot Mode map.
4. Can TerraMow cut along the edge of my lawn?
Yes. TerraMow supports edge cutting and can cut close to the lawn boundary.
You can adjust Edge-Cutting Distance in Mowing Settings. The distance can be adjusted within ±15 cm to better match your lawn edge and improve edge-cutting results.
5. What should I do if some areas are left uncut?
Uncut areas are usually caused by obstacles, tall grass, or areas the robot has recognized as non-operational.
-Check for obstacles. Remove branches, hoses, toys, stones, or other objects from the skipped area.
-If a mowable area is recognized as non-operational, add it as a Grass-Cutting Zone.
-If tall grass or wildflowers are being avoided, adjust Obstacle Avoidance Height in Grass-Cutting Zone settings.
-After making changes, run a small mowing task to confirm the area is covered.
Still stuck? If the same area is skipped again, submit feedback with a map screenshot and photos of the actual lawn area. Please refer to Report Issues and Bugs.
